MEN'S HEALTH

Pelvic pain and incontinence (urinary or stool leakage) are not conditions limited to women alone. Frequently, men experience these symptoms as a result of chronic prostatitis or post prostate surgery. Men can also experience pelvic pain and penile pain post vasectomy. Physical therapy can provide relief of chronic pelvic pain (CPPS) and incontinence with the use of trigger point release, biofeedback and strengthening of the pelvic floor muscles.

Physical therapy can also be useful in the treatment of certain types of constipation. Physical therapy addresses any muscular tightness or spasms as well as lifestyle factors that may be contributing to symptoms of constipation.

The following conditions can be improved through physical therapy treatment :

  • Chronic Pelvic Pain Syndrome (CPPS)

  • Levator Ani syndrome

  • Pudendal Neuralgia

  • Urinary/Fecal Incontinence (leakage of urine or stool)

  • Constipation

  • Coccyx pain

  • Post Vasectomy Syndrome
