My name is Gabriela Aparicio, licensed massage therapist and medical massage practioner, MA56415. I attended the National Personal Training Institute in Longwood, Florida, and became NCBTMB certified in May of 2009. I specialize in sports, medical/pain relief, kinesio taping, myofascial, and active assisted and PNF stretching. I belong to the Associated Bodywork and Massage Professionals, FL State Massage Therapy Association, the FSMTA Florida Sports Massage Team and the UltraSports Massage Team in St. Petersburg, FL. I also provide pre and post event massage for athletes at various sporting events (triathlons, cycling races, marathons, ironman competitions, etc). I bring to you much conviction, dedication and passion to the style of therapy I provide, and having just relocated to the San Diego area, I am available immediately for sessions at Function Smart.
I have a varied background in several sports including gymnastics, soccer, Brazilian capoeira and most recently triathlons, and understand the physical and mental demands athletes endure. I have chosen to use my background in fitness to promote healing through touch, aid in injury recovery and manage pain not only to athletes, but also to those with wellness & balance in mind. I listen to what your body is saying and deliver my therapy accordingly. I am compassionate and empathetic to your needs and understand the importance of connecting with the right therapist. I come from a place of abundance, for abundance abounds…
Hello, my name is Michael White. I have over 2000 hours of training from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in San Diego. I specialize in sports therapy and rehabilitation from injuries and surgeries. I practice Tui Na, which is an ancient Chinese style that uses the same Chinese medical theory that is the basis for acupuncture. This includes activating energy channels in the body, acupressure, deep tissue, gua sha (scraping), cupping, and harmonizing techniques. I also utilize neuromuscular techniques, such as PNF stretching and passive range of motion stretching. For more information about me please check out my LinkedIn page.
I grew up playing baseball, and have experience in track events, wrestling, and
many other sports. I have a unique understanding of the human body, from my
background as an athlete and studying physiology, to my current endeavors in Chinese Medicine. In my massages, I bring forth all of my knowledge and experience to design a treatment that is correct for every individual.
